All your senses come alive and you know this is Big Game country. It’s the scent in the breeze, the roar in the night, the padded paw-print
in the sand - the wildness is all around you. Little Chem Chem – also known as “sunrise camp” - offers the raw drama of the East African
bush in a very private setting. This gem, on a 16 000ha exclusive concession, adjoins the Tarangire National Park, famous for its towering
baobabs, and overlooks the serene Lake Burunge.
The true safari experience is evident everywhere.
A handful of luxury vintage tents guarantee an intimate experience with this untamed land.
Unfenced territory sees animals move through the camp.
Game drives on open-air safari vehicles offer unforgettable moments: watch cheetah sprint across the savannah; observe elephants herds
on the move; thrill at the rare sight of tree-climbing lions…
Where there is water there is birdlife. See how Lake Burunge settles into stillness at sunset, your binoculars at the ready as you sip
a sundowner.
Step out of the deep comfort of your bed and the cocoon of your luxury tent. Above you the vast, unyielding African sky; around you an acacia-dotted landscape
that stretches from horizon to horizon.
Privacy is paramount at Little Chem Chem. The beauty of the six vintage safari-style tents is in their simplicity. There is no excess,
only luxurious necessity:
Each has a large bedroom (there is one family-size tent).
A rocking chair to gaze across the plains and a study desk to make some notes.
A vanity area with a dressing room.
An ensuite bathroom with an indoor and outdoor shower, and flushing toilet.
Listen to the night sounds under a star-strewn sky. And at dawn, before a game drive, watch the sun wash
over the bushveld. Look at the spoor for clues what passed by your tent as you slept…
Little Chem Chem is a camp designed to look out onto endless, open horizons. It is here where you feel at one with the plains that stretch out around you. Watch the elephants come and go from the watering hole in front of the camp. Lunch was never as exciting as this!
Relax in the lounge tent for a lazy afternoon swopping stories or browse through the boutique camp shop. The dining tent allows for convivial meal times. Outdoor dining and picnics under the baobab gives you the full wilderness experience. A combined lounge and dining tent is perfect for families to be together.
Little Chem Chem is Big Game territory. See it from a safari vehicle in either the concession area or the Tarangire National Park. Or experience
it from the thrill of a helicopter flip or hot air balloon ride. As a bird-watchers’ paradise it provides for fantastic viewing and photographic
opportunities. The cultural elements are fulfilling and interesting – visit a local Maasai village to interact with the local community.
There are so many choices with which to fill your days and nights – and loads of activities for children too. Be as busy or as quiet as
you like…
Family time is sacred and should be protected and respected.
At Chem Chem, we understand the importance of creating special moments to discover, explore and connect. Through safari experiences, hands-on
conservation and community involvement; we provide the environment for families to spend valuable and life enriching time together.
Children aged 8 years and over are welcome at Little Chem Chem.

The Family Suite has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and can accommodate up to 3 children (under 16) and 2 adults.

Near the border of the Tarangire National Park, Little Chem Chem is an oasis for the wildlife of your childhood dreams. Explore this ancient corridor for
migrating herds of elephant, buffalo and other game. Experience the abundant birdlife and discover the natural beauty of Tanzania through
safari.
Spend time searching for leopards in the tree tops, prides of lion on the savannah, sprinting cheetah and
families of elephant. Zebra, impala, buffalo, wildebeest and groups of mongoose are common amongst the bigger game and equally special
with which to spend time.
