Scenic helicopter excursions

Feel the thrill as the vast African wilderness opens up before you on a scenic helicopter excursion. Explore otherwise unreachable destinations and see the region’s greatest sights from above — from the Ngorongoro Crater to the flocks of flamingos in the lakes. Kids on safari

From fun games to bush skills, we offer plenty of activities to entertain little ones on safari. The activities depend on the property and include guided walks, interactive cooking, marshmallow-toasting, animal tracking, beading lessons with the Maasai and safari-themed baking.

Hot air balloon rides

Rise with the dawn and glide over the tops of acacias and ancient baobabs as the sun climbs the sky. Witness the region’s abundant wildlife wandering the landscape below before ending the experience with a rustic bush breakfast. For more information, please enquire with our reservations team.

Game drives with your private guide and vehicle

Evening drives

Immerse yourself in a world that comes alive under the moonlight as you make your way back to camp after sundowners. Trace the path of the spotlight as you set off with your private guide and vehicle to seek out the creatures that begin their day at sunset. This experience is included in your stay.

Tarangire National Park

Take a trip to Tarangire National Park, which borders our exclusive-use protected wildlife area. Here, you’ll discover a landscape home to enormous baobabs and vast herds of elephants. Encounters with Big Tusker elephants

Our tireless conservation work has turned our exclusive-use protected wildlife area into a haven for the iconic Big Tusker elephants. With your private guide and vehicle, you’ll have the rare opportunity to get close to these animals and spend time observing them.

Tree-climbing lions

The Manyara region is renowned for its tree-climbing lions. Having discovered the advantages of surveying their territories from above — and escaping the heat of the day — the lions at Chem Chem can often be found lounging on branches high up in the trees.

School visits

Promoting education and inspiring the future custodians of the land are integral parts of our efforts to empower our communities. Take a trip to the nearby Mdori Primary School to visit the students and see the work we’re doing to improve education. This is included in your stay.

With prime positions at the edge of two watering holes that teem with birds and wildlife, our photography hides are the perfect spots to slow down, sit with nature and snap the perfect wildlife shots.

Sundowners at the baobab lookout deck

Elevated among ancient branches, our baobab lookout deck makes for an unforgettable sundowner spot overlooking a local waterhole, which attracts resident wildlife. Sip on your drink of choice and bid the day farewell as you watch the region’s nocturnal wildlife start to stir.
