Location

The exclusive Chem Chem Tarangire lies between the immense savannas of Tarangire National Park and the bird-rich waters
of Lake Manyara in its own 4000-hectare private land concession
and lies in the “migration corridor” between Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara National Park.
This fantastic location is perfect for unforgettable walking
safaris and bird watching excursions.

The lodge has been thoughtfully placed in extraordinary settings to ensure that guests have the richest and most fulfilling Tanzanian experience. It is nestled amongst an oasis of palms with stunning panoramic views of the Rift Valley’s western escarpment.

The safari opportunities here are excellent and with Tarangire (home to the greatest concentration of Elephant in East Africa) and Lake Manyara on your doorstep, tailor-made excursions are led by some of Tanzania’s most experienced guides.

Tarangire National Park is a baked, white savannah during the dry season and home to lush, green plains during the wet. Herds of elephant, wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle and hartebeest roam the plains whilst marshes are home to hundreds of species of birds. If you are lucky, you may spot an elusive leopard dozing in the branches of an acacia tree.

Lake Manyara lies like a glittering jewel in its own national park at the foot of the Rift Valley escarpment. The huge 200-square kilometre (77 square mile) lake is home to a plethora of birdlife including flamingos, which hover over the water like a pink cloud.
Drawing water from the lake, other areas of the park are lush with forests and home
to troops of baboons. Game drives and forest walks can be enjoyed in this unique area.

I have travelled the
world and visited many
exotic, fascinating,
unique and beautiful
places, BUT nothing
comes close to the
setting, ambience and

experience I had at
Chem Chem in
Tanzania!!! It should be
on everyone’s “bucket
list” of adventure
