Chem Chem in Swahili means “spring” – a source of pure water
from which all life is derived. A “chem chem” is especially
significant while on safari – if you are lucky enough to see
one you know that wildlife is not far away!

Access to Chem Chem Tarangire

Chem Chem Tarangire is a 2.5 hour transfer from Kilimanjaro Airport
or a 1.5 hour transfer from Arusha.
Both routes offer a relaxing drive through the lush landscape of Tanzania.
Located 9 km from the Tarangire junction and 35 km from the Manyara junction.

Access to Tanzania

Direct daily flights to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) with KLM via Amsterdam. Kilimanjaro International Airport is about 40 km from Arusha.
Weekly charter flights to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
with Condor (Germany) or Edelweiss (Switzerland).

Alternatively, many international carriers fly into Dar es Salaam, and it is easy
to catch a domestic flight from there to Arusha.
International carriers to Dar es Salaam: British Airways (Gatwick), Swiss (Zurich),
Gulf Air (Muscat & Abu Dhabi), Emirates (Dubai), Turkish Airlines (Istanbul).

Domestic carriers to Arusha Airport and Kilimanjaro International Airport:
5-6 flights daily with Regional, Precision Air, Coastal or Fly540.
British Airways, Kenya Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Swiss fly via Nairobi,
often at more competitive prices than via Dar as Salaam.

Domestic carriers to Arusha Airport and Kilimanjaro International Airport:
3-4 flights daily (40 min.) with Precision Air or Fly540.
